Gemalto: rejects Atos' proposal.
(CercleFinance.com) - Gemalto has announced that it has rejected the unsollicited and conditional proposal by Atos with a view to a possible offer to acquire its shares at a price of 46 euros per share in cash (dividend attached), as unveiled on Tuesday morning.
The digital security specialist says that it "is best positioned to grow successfully on a standalone basis and create long term value for its stakeholders, including its shareholders".
According to Gemalto, the proposal includes no convincing strategy, significantly underestimates its value, does not satisfy the interests of the different parties involved and does not provide enough guarantee regarding the completion of the deal.
