Aegon: raises 500 million euros in convertible note

(CercleFinance.com) - Aegon is raising 500 million euros to refinance debt via a convertible note, the Dutch insurance group said in a statement on Friday.

Aegon said it has successfully priced its inaugural Restricted Tier 1 perpetual contingent convertible securities, with a fixed coupon of 5.625% until October 2029.

"This transaction provides us with financial flexibility to call part of our outstanding grandfathered securities," CFO Matt Rider said.

An application will be made to list the notes on Euronext Dublin, Aegon said.
