Airbus: partnership in medical eVTOL
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus Helicopters has announced that it has teamed up with the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation to develop future CityAirbus NextGen missions for medical services in Norway.
The parties intend to study the added value of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for selected medical service use cases throughout the country.
The Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation said that complementarity is a key driver in this endeavor: helicopters remain essential to perform emergency medical services, while eVTOLs can provide additional capabilities to support first responders, for example by transporting medical specialists to accident scenes or organs from one medical site to another.
