Airbus: Brazilian army orders 27 helicopters
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus Helicopters announced on Friday an order for 27 H125 helicopters from the Brazilian Army, which plans to use them for pilot training exercises.
The aircraft are intended to replace two aging helicopter types currently used by the Air Force and Navy, namely the AS350 and Bell 206 models.
Airbus Helicopters says it will produce the H125 at its Helibras plant in Itajuba, a city between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, where it also makes the H225Ms that it sells to the Brazilian military.
The Brazilian armed forces already use 156 Airbus helicopters, deployed in eight air bases in the country, including 67 Ecureuil and 41 H225M, used for tactical transport, search and rescue and civil security missions.
No financial details of the order were given.
