Airbus: new research centre in UK
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announced on Thursday that it will strengthen its presence in the UK with the establishment of a new research centre near Bristol, which will be dedicated to hydrogen technologies.
The plane maker said that the site's main aim will be to design a competitively priced cryogenic fuel system for its zero-emission "ZEROe" commercial aircraft, due to be launched in 2035.
More generally, the centre will enable the company to accelerate its expertise in hydrogen propulsion.
Airbus says that the centre will be financially supported by the UK government, which recently pledged 685 million pounds (about 800 million euros) for the advanced aerospace technology sector over the next three years.
