Airbus: major support contract with US Army
(CercleFinance.com) - Today Airbus announced that it has signed a follow-on contract with the US Army to provide spare parts, equipment and technical support for all 482 UH-72A and UH-72 B utility and training helicopters in its fleet.
The contract includes a six-month base and 4.5 option years, and is potentially worth over 1.5 billion dollars. Airbus will provide support at 67 Lakota sites in the US and abroad.
The European aircraft manufacturer points out that this Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) contract with the US Army is its largest performance-based support contract for helicopters in the world.
