Airbus: cuts net loss slightly in 2020
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus group has reported a net loss of 1.
13 billion euros for 2020, compared with 1.36 billion euros in 2019, with adjusted EBIT - a key indicator capturing the underlying operating margin - of 1.71 billion euros, compared with 6.95 billion euros.
The aerospace and defense group's sales fell 29% to 49.9 billion euros, due to the difficult market environment that is dogging the commercial aircraft business, with a 34% drop in deliveries y-o-y.
While is is not proposing a dividend for 2020, at least in 2021 Airbus aims to achieve the same number of commercial aircraft deliveries as in 2020, an adjusted EBIT of 2 billion euros and breakeven free cash flow before M&A and customer financing.
