Airbus: contract for drones with French Navy
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announces that Survey COPTER, the mini UAS subsidiary of Airbus Defence and Space, has signed a contract with the DGA to supply the French Navy with 11 systems (22 aircraft) of Aliaca fixed-wing electric UAS (maritime version).
Airbus adds that this contract also includes the associated training and integrated logistics support. The first aircraft deliveries are scheduled for this year.
The Aliaca maritime UAV is capable of carrying out three-hour missions within a range of 50 km (27 miles). With a maximum take-off weight of 16 kg, it can easily be deployed in under 15 minutes by just two operators.
