Airbus: to deliver Copernicus Mission Radar Instrument

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has announced that it has been selected by Thales Alenia Space to build the advanced radar instrument for the "L-band Radar Observatory System for Europe" (ROSE-L) mission.

In Friedrichshafen (Germany), Airbus Defense and Space will lead an industrial consortium that includes companies from nine countries to complete the project. The contract, awarded to Airbus by Thales Alenia Space, which is prime contractor for this mission, is worth around 190 million euros.

The Copernicus ROSE-L mission, scheduled for launch in July 2027, will enable non-stop surveillance of land, ocean and ice, providing more frequent images with high spatial resolution and high sensitivity.
