Airbus: E3.6bn provision in 2019 accounts
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announces the conclusion of an agreement in principle with the French, British and American authorities.
This agreement has been reached as part of an investigation
by the French internal financial prosecutor (Parquet National Financier français), the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) in the UK and authorities in the US.
These agreements will lead Airbus to book a provision of 3.6 billion euros in its 2019 financial statements for the payment of potential fines to the French, British and American authorities (subject to judicial approval).
The aforementioned investigations by the authorities relate to corruption charges, as well as inaccurate statements made to the US authorities under the United States' International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
