Airbus: produces 100th A220
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has celebrated the 100th A220 produced for a client at a ceremony held at the aircraft program headquarters in Mirabel, Canada.
This plane, an A220-300, is intended for the Latvian airline airBaltic. Based in the Capital Riga, airBaltic currently operates a fleet of twenty A220-300s.
The A220 uses Pratt & Whitney's latest generation PW1500G Geared Turbofan engines and has a fuel economy reduction of at least 20% per seat compared to previous-generation aircraft, as well as a significant reduction in emissions and noise.
At the end of October 2019, Airbus had registered 530 firm orders from over 20 clients worldwide.
