Airbus: strong growth in H1 2019 results

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has reported H1 2019 consolidated sales that are up 24% at 30.
9 billion euros, driven by the Airbus division (commercial aircraft), where sales soared 178% to 24 billion euros.
The number of civil aircraft delivered rose by 28.4% to 389 units.

Adjusted operating income more than doubled (+118%) to 2.5 billion euros, while its margin climbed from 4.6% to 8.2%, and (published) net profit leapt 141% to 1.2 billion euros, or 1.54 euro per share.

"The half-year financial performance mainly reflects the ramp-up in production of A320 Family aircraft and transition to the more efficient NEO version, as well as further progress on the A350 financial performance,” said Airbus Chief Executive Officer Guillaume Faury, while adding “The second half of the year in terms of deliveries and in particular free cash flow continues to be challenging."

The group finally confirmed its forecasts for FY 2019, including 880 to 890 deliveries of civil aircraft, with its adjusted operating income up approximately 15%.
