Airbus: JetBlue orders A321XLR and A220 aircraft
(CercleFinance.com) - JetBlue Airways will add the A321XLR and A220 planes to its current order.
JetBlue has committed to convert 13 existing A321neo orders into firm orders for the new A321XLR. The company has also converted 10 existing options into firm orders for additional A220-300 aircraft.
JetBlue now operates 193 A320 and A321 aircraft, and has placed orders for 85 A321neos and 60 A220-300 aircraft. In April, JetBlue converted 13 A321neo aircraft from its existing order into the LR (long range) version.
The A321XLR will offer an unprecedented autonomy of up to 4,700 nm, while the A220 is the only plane designed for the 100-150 seat market segment.
