Airbus: American Airlines orders 50 Airbus A321XLR
(CercleFinance.com) - American Airlines, the largest airline in the world, will buy 50 Airbus A321XLR, the new longer-range version of the A321neo.
The contract includes the conversion of 30 A321neo to A321XLR and additional orders of 20 A321XLR.
American Airlines is the largest Airbus operator in the world, with 422 aircraft. Following today's announcement, the company has outstanding orders of 115 A321neos and A321XLR from Airbus.
From 2023, the A321XLR will offer an unprecedented range of up to 4,700nm, which is 15% more than the A321LR, along with 30% lower fuel consumption per seat compared to previous generation competitors.
