Airbus: delivered 800 planes in 2018 - a new record
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus announced on Wednesday night that it delivered 800 commercial aircraft to 93 clients in 2018, achieving its targets for the year, improving its performance by 11% relative to 2017 and setting a new record in the field.
In addition, for the 16th year in a row, the plane maker increased the number of commercial aircraft delivered within a year. In detail, Airbus has delivered 20 A220s, 626 A320 family aircraft, 49 A330s, 93 A350 XWBs and 12 A380s.
Regarding sales, Airbus said that it booked 747 net orders in 2018, against 1,109 in 2017. At the end of 2018, Airbus' order backlog of commercial aircraft reached a new record for the industry, i.e. 7,577 planes, including 480 A220, against 7,265 at end-2017.
Airbus will publish its full-year results on 14 February.
