Airbus: major contract for MBDA in UK
(CercleFinance.com) - The European missile company MBDA this morning announces a contract worth 400 million pounds (about 450 million euros) won with the British Royal Air Force (RAF), concerning the extension of the Brimstone program until 2030.
Brimstone is an air-to-surface missile. This contract aims “to replenish the country's inventory”.
These missiles will initially be for the RAF's Typhoon fighter-bombers, although they should also, over the long run, be carried away by RPAS Protector Drones and Army Apache combat helicopters.
Remember that MBDA's capital is jointly held by Airbus (37.5%), the British group BAE Systems (37.5%) and the Italian company Leonardo (25%).
