Airbus Group: Emirates still wants the A380
(CercleFinance.com) - The A380 commercial program is not dead! Airbus Group has just announced that Emirates, which by far is its main customer, has signed a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of 36 additional planes.
In detail, the order is for 20 aircraft, with an option on 16 additional A380s for a total of 16 billion dollars at list prices.
Deliveries will begin in 2020.
Emirates received its first A380 in July 2008 and its 100th aircraft on 3 November at a ceremony in Hamburg, Germany.
