Airbus: arbitral award in conflict with Taiwan
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus Group has announced receiving an award of 104 million euros in a trade dispute between Matra Défense SAS (company acquired by one of the French predecessors of Airbus in 1998) and the Republic of China (Taiwan).
This award is a claim for a breach of contract relating to a purchase agreement signed in 1992 and for the supply of missiles. Matra Défense SAS will study the case before assessing the next steps to be taken.
Furthermore, the European aircraft manufacturer confirmed that it is in discussions with the legal authorities of Munich for a potential shutdown of an investigation into a sale of Eurofighter aircraft to the Republic of Austria.
