Airbus: celebrates 100th delivery of A380 to Emirates.
(CercleFinance.com) - Late morning today, in Hamburg Airbus is organizing a ceremony for the delivery of its 100th (very) widebody A380 aircraft to the middle-eastern airline Emirates.
The delivery ceremony will be held in the presence of Emirates CEO Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum and Tom Enders, the head of Airbus. Emirates is the group's first client for this "super-jumbo," and is scheduled to receive another 42 planes.
Mr. bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said that the A380 has been a success for Emirates, praising its capacity, both for international and regional airports, in addition to its comfort. In his opinion, the introduction of an A380 on a route tends to stimulate traffic on it.
