Airbus: delivery of first A320neo assembled in Tianjin.
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus Group has announced that AirAsia has taken delivery of the first ever A320neo that has been assembled on its final assembly line in Asia (FALA) at a special ceremony in Tianjin, China.
The aircraft, which is equipped with CFM's LEAP-1A engines, can accommodate 186 passengers. AirAsia, a major customer of the A320 family, has so far ordered 578 Airbus single-aisle aircraft, including 404 from the A320neo family.
The FALA Tianjin, which was inaugurated in 2008, became the third final assembly line of Airbus single-aisle in the world, after Toulouse and Hamburg. To date, some 340 aircraft have been assembled and delivered by this assembly line, the group's first channel outside Europe.
