Airbus: sends first all-electric satellite into orbit.
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has reported that the all-electric Eutelsat 172B has reached the geostationary orbit in record time.
The telecommunications satellite carried out the first electrically-propelled deployment of a high-capacity satellite 4 months after its launch last June, which is a world first.
Eutelsat 172B was launched from Kourou, French Guiana, by Ariane 5, on 1 June 2017.
