Airbus said that these new A321neo aircraft will replace and modernise the existing fleet of fifteen A320s and eight A321s at Cathay Dragon and they will enable the company to seize growth opportunities in the region.

Cathay Dragon currently has 56 destinations in Asia, including 28 in mainland China. Its current fleet includes 23 planes from the A320 family and 24 wide-bodied A330-300. Cathay Pacific is the main user of the A330 aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region.
