DSM: unit launches own generic version of statin
(CercleFinance.com) - DSM Sinochem Pharmaceuticals has started to sell its own generic version of Rosuvastatin, a statin that is used to reduce high cholesterol and prevent cardiovascular diseases, DSM said on Friday.
Upon the patent's expiry at the end of December 2017, DSP successfully launched its generic Rosuvastatin drug product in a number of Western European countries.
The launch will be extended to additional countries by the end of January, including the Netherlands, DSM said.
Headquartered in Singapore, DSM Sinochem Pharmaceuticals produces antibiotics, next-generation statins and anti-fungals. The company DSP is a 50/50 joint venture between Royal DSM and Sinochem.
