DSM: buys Danish probiotics firm Biocare
(CercleFinance.com) - Dutch food and chemicals group Royal DSM has acquired BioCare Copenhagen to expand its product offer in probiotics.
Based in Copenhagen, BioCare is a privately-owned company which was founded in 2012, specialising in microbial actives with health benefits, targeting gastrointestinal and metabolic disorders, as well as infections and immunity.
In a press release, DSM said Biocare is positioned on an attractive market segment, growing an estimated 7% per year.
So far, the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
