Philips: in strategic deal with BioIntelliSense
(CercleFinance.com) - Dutch health technology company Philips said on Thursday that it has signed a strategic partnership with BioIntelliSense, a Denver-based startup that has developed a wearable device that tracks and transmits skin temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate and cough.
Under the terms of the deal, BioIntelliSense will integrate its "BioSticker" medical sensor into Philips' remote patient monitoring equipment to help monitor at-risk patients from the hospital into their homes.
The move will help Philips enhance how clinicians remotely monitor patients who live with chronic conditions such as diabetes, cancer, or congestive heart failure via a discreet wearable patch.
