Philips: launches new mobile imaging platform for surgeries
(CercleFinance.com) - Royal Philips has launched a new mobile C-arm imaging platform to strenghthen its offer on the rapidly growing market of image-guided minimally invasive surgery, the Dutch company said on Tuesday.
Mobile C-arms are X-ray systems that are brought into operating theatres to provide live image guidance during surgery, including orthopedic, trauma and vascular procedures.
As patient numbers rise and surgical interventions become more complex, C-arms enable hospitals to treat more patients at a lower cost.
The "Zenition" will be introduced in the US, Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the first half of 2019, and will subsequently be rolled out in others markets.
