Unilever: Barclays increasingly confident
(CercleFinance.com) - Barclays has reiterated on Thursday its "overweight" rating on Unilever, citing increasing confidence in the consumer goods company's prospects.
In a research note sent today, the broker says it believes the market has yet to appreciate the extent of change induced by the group's new organisational structure, as well as the benefits that this should have on its competitiveness and growth over the next few years.
"The changes should enable Unilever to now compete at least on a level playing field with agile, local competition as well as compete more effectively against its traditional global peers," Barclays adds.
Taking this into account, Unilever warrants a superior rating to peers, the broker says.
