Heineken: UK watchdog approves Punch Taverns deal.
(CercleFinance.com) - The UK competition watchdog said on Friday that it has accepted Heineken's offer to purchase part of the Punch Taverns pub portfolio.
In June, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said that Heineken's acquisition of part of Punch Taverns' estate could reduce competition in specific areas across the UK.
Following this, Heineken offered to sell pubs in each of the affected areas.
