KPN: EQT considers buying the group
(CercleFinance.com) - EQT is considering buying Dutch telecoms company KPN, which would be its greatest acquisition yet, according to Bloomberg.
The two groups are said to be in an initial series of talks on the feasibility of such a transaction according to those interviewed by the press agency.
No final decision has yet been made, and there is no certainty that the negotiations will lead to a specific offer, Bloomberg underlines.
As indicated by Aurel BGC, to have any chance of acquiring KPN, the Dutch government would need to be convinced, as they can block the purchase of a telecoms group. There is moreover a foundation that protects the operator.
