7% increase in sales to 29 million euros, while the volume of transactions executed rose by 4.6% to 9.1 million in first six months of the year.
These increases are thanks to the momentum in recruiting new clients: over the period, 59,619 trading accounts were opened. The total number of accounts reached 417,681 at the end of June, for 405,311 clients.
Despite steady growth in the equity markets since January, geopolitical instability, characterised by Sino-American tensions and uncertainty about the outcome of Brexit, has played an important role for investors, Degiro noted.
