SES: contract with US Defense for portable maritime solution
(CercleFinance.com) - SES Government Solutions of the satellite network provider SES has announced that it has been awarded an order for a new portable maritime solution in a contract with the US Department of Defense (DoD) for high-speed, low-latency (HTS) satellite services in MOE.
"Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite communications will support U.S. servicemen overseas," the operator says, adding that "The solution leverages the O3b MEO satellite constellation operating 8,000km away from Earth".
