Toyota: global sales up 2% in 2018
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday Toyota Motor Corporation announced that it sold 10,593,656 vehicles (Toyota/Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino brands) worldwide in 2018, up 2% compared to 2017.
Sales of electrically powered models (hybrids, rechargeable hybrids, hydrogen fuel cells) grew by 7.7% relative to the previous year, reaching 1,637,118 units. In all, over 13 million of this type of vehicle have been sold since 1997.
In addition, regarding global production, this totaled 10,567,412 vehicles in 2018, a figure that has increased by 1% in the space of one year.
