Toyota: will invest 300 million euros in Onnaing plant
(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota Motor Europe today announced a new investment of 300 million euros in its Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF) automotive production site located in Onnaing near Valenciennes.
The group's cumulative capex reached a total of 1.4 billion euros for the site.
This site will be gradually modernised with new equipment, technologies and systems to prepare for the introduction of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform.
Toyota initially wants to transform 300 temporary employment contracts into permanent contracts (CDI) for preparation work with the possibility of another 400 new permanent jobs (CDI) once output reaches full capacity.
