SoftBank: to form strategic partnership with Wirecard
(CercleFinance.com) - This morning Wirecard announces that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japanese holding company SoftBank (telecom and Internet), under which the latter will invest 900 million euros in the major German electronic payments group.
In detail, SoftBank's investment will take the form of convertible bonds
with a maturity of five years, which currently represents 5.6% of
Wirecard's share capital at 130 euros per share.
The deal will be the subject of a resolution at Wirecard's AGM, which is
scheduled for 18 June.
A part of the deal includes SoftBank's support of Wirecard's launch in
the Japanese and South Korean markets. It may also be a question of
jointly developing new services and products.
