WPP: buys Portuguese creative agency BAR
(CercleFinance.com) - WPP has acquired Bomtempo, Anahory & Ralha (BAR), an independent creative agency founded in Lisbon in 2009, in the wake of Brexit, the advertising group said on Wednesday.
BAR will merge operations with Ogilvy & Mather Portugal, with the combined business trading as BAR Ogilvy. It will be managed by BAR's founders: Jose Bomtempo, Diogo Anahory and Miguel Ralha.
BAR's clients include Sagres beer, bank Millennium BCP, airline TAP and Nespresso.
As a result of the UK's referendum decision to leave the European Union, Britain's WPP is placing greater emphasis on growth in Western Continental Europe, it said in a statement.
