Amplifon: to buy Spanish GAES for 528 million
(CercleFinance.com) - Amplifon, the Italian hearing-aid maker, has concluded the deal to acquire the Spanish GAES Group for 528 million euros.
With this acquisition, Amplifon's global market share is set to grow to over 11%.
The sellers of GAES Group, created in Barcelona in 1949, are principally the Gassó family. The target company is presented as the main global non-listed player in this sector.
GAES manages a network of 600 points-of-sale, 500 of which located in Spain and the remainder in Portugal and Latin America. In 2017, the Spanish company realised revenues of approximately 210 million euros for an EBITDA of approximately 30 million.
