Telecom Italia: CEO Flavio Cattaneo to leave company.
(CercleFinance.com) - Telecom Italia chief executive Flavio Cattaneo is leaving the company, the Italian telecoms operator said in a press release on Friday.
"This news comes as tensions with top shareholder Vivendi had escalated in recent weeks," analysts at Bryan Garnier commented today.
"Sources reported that Cattaneo, who was appointed by Vivendi in early 2016, was concerned he could no longer manage Telecom Italia the way he wanted, and did not want to risk damaging his reputation by remaining at the helm," the brokerage firm said.
A meeting of the nomination and remuneration committee has been called for today. Rumours say that Vivendi's chief convergence officer Amos Genish could soon take over the role of CEO.
