Eni: starts production at Sardinia solar park
(CercleFinance.com) - Italian energy group Eni said on Monday that it has opened its new photovoltaic park in Porto Torres, Sardinia, a farm that has a capacity of 31 MW.
The plant, the second developed by Eni in Sardinia, is expected to generate 50 GWh of power per year, of which about 70% is for self-consumption by users connected to the network of its chemicals unit Versalis.
The plan brings Eni's installed photovoltaic capacity to over 80 MW, now generated by 13 plants in five regions. On Saturday, Versalis said that all the plants at Crescentino would be up and running by the first half of 2020.
