Eni: makes new discoveries in Egypt's desert
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni and partner EGPC have recently made two additional near field oil discoveries in the Western Desert of Egypt, the Italian energy company said on Tuesday.
The discoveries were made as Eni starts production from South West Meleiha Development Lease, also located in the Egyptian Western Desert, some 130 Km North of the Siwa oasis.
Separately, Eni and Qatar Petroleum today signed an agreement that will see the Qatari national oil company acquire a 13.75% share in three exploration blocks in deep offshore Kenya.
The blocks are located in water depths ranging between 1,000 and 2,700 metres, and cover a total area of about 15,000 square kilometres.
