Eni: buys another oil field in Alaska
(CercleFinance.com) - Italy's Eni has agreed to buy a 70% stake in Alaska's Oooguruk oil field from the independant oil firm Caelus Natural Resources, the energy group said on Thursday.
The oil field, which has been in production since 2008, currently has a production of approximately 10,000 barrels of oil per day from 25 wells.
The acquisition will enable Eni to increase its production in Alaska by approximately 7,000 barrels a day, while obtaining synergies with the Nikaitchuq asset, another Eni oil field located approximately 13 km away.
Eni already owned a 30% stake in the Oooguruk oil field.
