Eni: 'outstanding' results at Egypt offshore field
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni's Zohr field in Egypt is now producing 2 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd), the equivalent of approximately 365,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), the Italian energy group said on Monday.
The company describes an "outstanding" result, achieved just a few months after the first gas was extracted in December 2017.
The Zohr field, which is the largest gas discovery ever made in Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea, is located about 190 km north of Port Said.
Eni holds a 50% stake in the block, Rosneft has 30%, BP 10% and Mubadala Petroleum 10%.
Again in the Middle-East, Eni's CEO Claudio Descalzi yesterday met Iraq's oil minister, Jabbar Ali Hussein Luaibi, in Baghdad, to outline the company's current activities in the country.
