Eni: denies wrongdoing after judge orders seizure.
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni has denied any wrongdoing after a Rome preliminary investigations judge ordered the preventive seizure of the measurement devices for oil products in the energy company's refineries and storages in Italy.
The Italian oil giant said the measure is part of an investigation by prosecutors in Prato and Frosinone that has been ongoing since 2010 and Rome since 2014, which had already been disclosed.
Considering the "consequences that might derive" of the seizure on the group's refining and fuel supply activities, Eni has decided to ask for the possibility to continue using the measurement devices to enable a continuation of business.
