Eni: new offshore well in Mexico shows promising results.
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni has successfully drilled and tested an offshore well in the shallow waters off the southeast of Mexico, boosting the resource estimate of its Amoca project.
The Italian energy group said in a press release that the well was drilled to a total depth of 4,330 metres and encountered 410 metres of net oil pay.
With these results, Eni is boosting the resource estimate of the Amoca field to 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent in place and the Area 1 total estimated resource base to 1.3 billion barrels of oil in place, 90% of which is oil, with even further upside.
