Enel: wins bid for Electropaulo
(CercleFinance.com) - Enel today announces that it has won the bidding for the Brazilian electricity distributor Electropaulo, offering 45.
22 Brazilian reais (c. 10.4 euros) per share, the highest price offered amongst interested parties.
Enel's total investment would therefore amount to around 7.57 billion Brazilian Reais, or approximately 1.76 billion euros. This adds to the commitment to subscribe a subsequent capital increase of Eletropaulo for at least 1.5 billion Brazilian reais (c. 350 million euros).
The Italian electrician emphasizes that this acquisition would add seven million additional customers to its customer base in Brazil, bringing it to a total of 17 million, making it the largest operator in this country.
