Mediaset: increases stake in ProSiebenSat.1
(CercleFinance.com) - Italian TV broadcaster Mediaset said it has further raised its stake in German peer ProSiebenSat.
1 to 15.1%, the latest move in its strategy to build a pan-European portfolio.
Mediaset announced late on Monday that it has secured a stake of 5.5% of the share capital of ProSiebenSat.1.
Mediaset - which is trying to gain access to Europe's major markets - said its investment in ProSieben will allow to strengthen its ties with the German company.
"Mediaset firmly believes in the future of the European media industry," it said.
Germany is Europe's largest media market.
