4% in Milan today, the day after the Italian media group reported earnings of 74.8 million euros for the first six months of 2017, against a loss of 28.2 million euros a year ago.
The group posted interim operating profit of 212.8 million euros, meaning a 6.4-point improvement in its operating margin to 11.5%, with revenues that are down over 1% to 1.85 billion euros, due to the situation of the advertising market in Italy and Spain.
Mediaset's management has nevertheless confirmed its target for positive operating profit and net profit over FY 2017, deeming that its advertising revenues are on “a positive trend, despite a market that continues to be characterised by weakness”.
