Ryanair: February passenger numbers rise 9%

(CercleFinance.com) - Ryanair carried 10.
5 million passengers in February, up 9% from a year ago, Europe's biggest low-cost airline said on Tuesday.

Load factor - seats filled expressed as a percentage of capacity - reached 96%, it said.

The Irish airline said, however, that traffic and load factor in the months of March and April is likely to be lower than normal due to the fall in bookings in response to the Covid-19 virus outbreak.

Ryanair said that it has had to cancel up to 25% of its Italian short-haul program, mainly to/from and within Italy, over the three-week period from 17 March to 8 April.

The Ryanair share was up 3.6% after the statement.
