Ryanair: January passenger traffic up 5%
(CercleFinance.com) - Irish budget airline Ryanair said on Tuesday that it carried 10.
8 million passengers in January, up 5% from last year.
Europe's biggest low-cost airline said its load factor - a measure of how well the carrier fills its seats - was 92% in the past month.
Meanwhile, its Lauda unit carried 500,000 passengers in January, up 67%, with a load factor of 91%.
Ryanair said it operated over 62,000 scheduled flights in January.
These positive figures build on better-than-expected Christmas and New Year bookings.
