Ryanair: May traffic up 6%; load factor also improves

Europe's biggest low-cost airline said its load factor — a measure of how well the carrier fills its planes — also rose to 96% over the month, up from 95% a year earlier.
The carrier said air traffic controller strikes and staff shortages resulted in the cancellation of over 1,100 flights in May 2018, vs. just 43 in May 2017, prompting the company to call for "immediate action" from the EU.
