Ryanair: FY profit up 10%

(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday morning low-cost airline Ryanair reported FY 2017/2018 profit that is up 10% at 1.
450 billion euros, against 1.316 billion a year ago.

In addition, EPS increased by 15%, from 1.053 euro to 1.215 euro. The group also posted a 9% increase in the number of passengers - revenues also increased (+8%), while the group's margin remaining stable over the past year (20%).

This result is in line with the company's expectations and the consensus.
The company said, “We recovered quickly from the Sept. 2017 pilot rostering failure” and explained that it also had to deal with "a year of overcapacity in Europe," along with "lower fares" and "significantly higher oil prices".
